Krivica – the safest cove in the Kvarner area
In addition to the description of the Krivica cove, we bring you a comprehensive overview of the charter offer for the Kvarner area.
Thanks to its location and shape, the Krivica cove is protected from all the winds. The beauty of the cove is emphasised by the thick pine forest stretching all the way to the sea. The boat dock at the outer end of the cove is not suitable for berthing because the sea is too shallow. Some yachtsmen stay anchored in Krivica for a few days.
A nice walkway leads to the other side of the island, to the romantic little town of Veli Lošinj. It takes about an hour on foot through the forest to get to Veli Lošinj.
There are some 10 buoys in the cove and organized mooring. The Krivica cove is five miles from Mali Lošinj. In the last few years Mali Lošinj became a favourite charter destination with a charter base with some 20 boats. The boats are moored next to the petrol station, which saves you the stress of having to find a petrol station to fill up the tank before returning the boat at the end of your holiday. It is an easy one week of sailing from Mali Lošinj to Kornati islands, Brijuni islands, islands of Rab, Krk, Cres, Unije, Susak..., depending on your priorities.
Boat prices are slightly lower than in the surrounding charter bases.
Here is an example of an offer for a week in mid-May and currently available boats:
All prices are in euros.
Transit log, end-cleaning and deposit are obligatory options, to be paid directly at the charter base upon arrival. In addition to the specified prices, in Croatia there is also a tourist tax which amounts to 1 euro per person per day (tax exempt are children until the age of 12, disabled persons; children aged 12-18 pay 50%).
The deposit is a security measure which is returned to the charterer if the yacht is returned undamaged and in the same condition it was in upon being handed over. The deposit can be paid in different ways: in cash, by credit card, traveller's cheque or by bank transfer. However, charter agencies usually only accept cash payments or credit card slips. Some charter bases do not accept American Express.
The booking of a boat is confirmed by a down-payment of 30% to 50% of the total rental price with the emainder to be paid 4 weeks before sailing out.
