Brgulje (or Bargulje, as it was originally called) is one of the three villages that are situated in the middle of this island. There is the old village about 800 metres from the main pier, which is called Brgumul (originally known as Bargumu). The new part of Brgulje is situated right next to the shore in Brgulje Bay and the quay. The total number of permanent residents in Brgulje is only 60. During the summer, however, this number increases considerably. Tourism in Brgulje Tourism in Brgulje has started developing in the last fifteen years, especially since thirty new houses next to the Brgumul pier were built. With its 80 to 100 beds, Brgulje is one of the smaller tourist resorts. Brgulj Bay This is one of the most beautiful and safest anchorages for yacht and similar boats. It has around two hundred anchorage places and about 30 moorings along the shore. Apart from refuse collection, Brgulje also offers drinking water and an electric power supply on the pier. Beaches The most popular beach isPržine (originally called Paržine), around five hundred meters to the north on the northern side of the island.
