Vrulje/Kornati National Park
The biggest settlement on the island of Kornat is Vrulje, which has around 50 houses. Vrulje is not permanently inhabited. The owners live on the island of Murter and only occasionally go to the Kornati islands because of agriculture and fishing. The most frequent kind of cultivation on the Kornati Islands is olive trees from which olive oil of a very high quality is obtained.
Apart from agriculture, the inhabitants are also engaged in fishing, raising livestock and tourism. The catering offer in the bay consists of 3 restaurants. There is also a small shop in which essential foodstuffs can be obtained. In addition, Vrulje is visited by a boat-shop where essential food items can be purchased. It is recommended to stock up with supplies before sailing to the Kornati islands.
There is no doctor in Vrulje or anywhere else in the entire Kornati archipelago. In emergencies, a fast transfer can be organised to Murter, where there is an outpatients clinic.
