Ilovik
The islands of Ilovik and Sveti Petar are located south of the island of Lošinj and are separated by the Ilovačka vrata straits.
The only village located on the island of Ilovik (44 28 N, 14 33 E) is also called Ilovik. The circumference of the the island is 15.4 km, and it occupies an area of 5.8 km2. The coast is accessible from all sides and there are many secluded bays. The largest bay with a sandy beach is Parzine, located in the south-eastern part of the island.
Ilovik and Sveti Petar are separated by a channel which is 2.5 km long and 300 metres wide. Ilovik harbour is 1.5 km long and 300 metres wide. There are 80 buoys available for mooring which are located along the entire length of the channel. On the jetty, there are approximately 30 permanent moorings available for public use. Most of these have access to 220 V electrical hook-up facilities. Small quantities of water can be obtained from the town cistern in front of the church. Removal of rubbish is provided for all vessels.
The location of the channel offers natural protection from most winds except to a certain extent from the southern jugo. The convenient location of this harbour makes it a favourite stopover point, as in only a few hours, you can reach Istria, Krk, Rab, Pag, Kornati and other central Dalmatian destinations.
There is a daily boat connection between Ilovik and Mali Lošinj, and a fast connection with Rijeka. In the summer, excursion boats from Veli and Mali Lošinj sail to Ilovik.
